The works consist of 5 Levels of parking of approximately 40,000 m², Motor showrooms and workshops approximately 3,000m², 10-story hotel made up of 150 rooms and 200 Executive apartments and conference facilities a total of 26,500 m². Further to this, we have an 8-storey apartment component with 241 apartments covering approximately 15,200 m².
Bulk earthworks was carried out by Icon Earthworks in conjunction with Franki Afrika, who were responsible for the lateral support walls. This work was successfully completed as per programme 17 February 2017.
The main contractor is Group Five who took possession of the site on the 1 February 2017. Work started off slowly with exceptional rains in the months of February & March. Group 5 have weathered the storm and are now proceeding at a rapid pace with the concrete structure averaging approximately 2,500 m² per week. To date we have cast in excess of 20,000m² of cast floor slabs since April 2017. Currently the residential side is one floor below street level whilst the hotel is 2 floors below street level, the completed floors being basements providing room for services and back of house and management areas.
Project completion is scheduled for July 2019.
